There once was a humble boy
Who was born to lead,
He was his mother’s joy,
He was destined to succeed.
He was a bright spark,
He would light up the dark ,
In the coming years.
Lead people out of trouble
Give them hope,
Address their fears

He was a man of conviction,
He knew wrong from right,
He worked hard for a good cause by
Day and by night,
He was a man of conviction,
Truth was his guiding light,
He was a man with a mission
And very good sight.

Like any tall poppy he was very exposed,
At the top it was lonely
As some people know.
He found friends were few
When things went wrong,
The stakes got high,
The daggers were drawn,
But he battled on,
Weathered the storm.

He was a man of conviction
He knew wrong from right,
He worked hard for a good cause by
Day and by night.
He was a man of conviction,
Truth was his guiding light,
He was a man with a mission
And very good sight.

At the end of the day the credit doesn’t go to the guy who criticises and thinks he’s so much wiser,
At the end of the day the credit doesn’t go
To the people in the crowd who throw rotten eggs and tomatoes,
The credit goes to the man in the arena,
The man fighting for the common good ,
The man with blood, sweat and dust on his face,
The man who dares to succeed,
The man who dares to fail,
The man who dares to care!
