Sole sister

I just want you to know

How much I miss you

And how glad I am I met you

On my life’s road

We just clicked like heels on a cobbled  stone path  ,

Two not quite  old  but very wise wives,

Solving the worlds problems

Sharing  a yarn

And a good belly  laugh

You had commanded  me to  go buy some fancy news shoes

I followed your instructions

Got some for your funeral

To  soothe  my blues

Call me crazy but I tell you  it’s amazing

When I put them on

It’s like  you’re

Walking with me

And when a stranger tells me “I love your shoes”

It’s like you’re talking to me

Sole sister

I just want you to know

How much I luv ya

Why oh why did you have to go?

You brought  glorious sun

To the coldest darkest days,

So much joy and fun

To so many  lucky people, in so many ways

You  made  the world a better place

And with your  exceptional green thumb ,

Your garden  always bloomed

Tulips, sunflowers, roses  and geraniums

And when  a big new flower pops up in a pot

It fills me with joy  and  I think of you

It’s like you’re saying hello

How do you do ?

Call me crazy

But it’s like you’re talking to me

You are the greatest  kind of friend a girl could ever find

Like a nugget of gold shining bright in a cold deep dark mine

If our friendship was a cake

It would be the best you could bake

It would have jam and cream in the middle  a stack of strawberries on top

If it was a hamburger it would be one with the lot

Sole sister

Call me crazy

Just may be

I don’t need to miss you

Cos you’re still here with me

In my memory

And when I put on those shoes

You’re still walking with me

And when I smell those flowers

You’re still talking to me

Or am I just a stark raving lunatic?
