Description
Out in space, vast cavities of emptiness exist,
Black holes, voids, nothingness.
Beware the black hole,
When travelling through space,
It’s a deep, dark force ,
Can take the smile off your face,
If you stumble and fall
It can suck you in,
Like quick sand,
It can get right under your skin.
Black holes can appear in the soul
When things in life go wrong,
Causing fear, sadness, anger, loss
Life can seem to lose its song.
Negative thoughts can swirl around,
Lurk in the dark,
Getting you down,
Can be hard to get off
The merry go round
In the vortex
Of the cerebral cortex.
A Black hole in the soul can feel like
A gaping wound inside,
With salt rubbed in
It can really sting,
It can get right under your skin.
This hang-over at 3 am proves that alcohol really doesn’t do the trick,
I just wanted to numb the pain of disillusionment
And now I just feel plain sick,
I just lost a friend,
Now an alien,
With no explanation,
Dropped me like a hot potato,
Took off in a spaceship
Leaving a crater,
There’s a void instead,
And now I ’m left to lick my wounds,
And nurse my hurting head.
The cure for black is white,
The cure for a dark void is light,
There’s hope in the glimmer of stars in the distant sky,
In the flame of a candle,
Burning bright,
Gotto love yourself
Gotto love your life,
Where there is love there is hope,
Where there is love there is light,
Take care of yourself,
Be your own best friend,
And in time that dark hole,
That void,
Will mend
Gotto open the blinds,
Let in the light,
Step out of the black hole,
Into the sunshine!
I went to see the doctor
For some professional advice,
She gave me a prescription ,
She said “You’ve just got to be nice to yourself,
You weren’t born on to this planet to be judged by any one else,
Don’t wear a disguise,
Just be yourself,
End friendships that are toxic,
That includes too much booze and cigarettes,
Tip that bottle down the drain,
Don’t fool yourself,
It won’t take away the pain,
Take water instead
To clear your head,
Quit cigarettes ,
They kill,
There’s no thrill,
They’ll make you choke,
And surely you don’t want your life to go up in smoke!”
The cure for black is white,
The cure for a dark void is light,
There’s hope in the glimmer of stars in the distant sky,
In the flame of a candle,
Burning bright.
Gotta love yourself,
Gotta love your life,
Where there is love there is hope,
Where there is love there is light,
Take care of yourself,
Be your own best friend,
And in time that dark hole,
That void,
Will mend
Out in space, vast cavities of emptiness exist,
Black holes. Voids, nothingness,
If you stumble in to one,
Don’t despair,
Let the light in to your void,
Love your life,
Take care of yourself,
Be your own best friend,
Let in the light,
Your void will mend,
As sure as eggs,
a brand new day
always follows the night!
